It was nice to have company last night – my knitting buddies came by and we had a whole load of baking, cakes, muffins, wine, crisps, and knitting! was so nice to have a night of catching up and chit chat.
Was weird not having David in the house – it feels a bit empty! Luckily I had Deuce who spent much of last night curled up beside me.
A nice lunch today with A – visited Sedap for some laksa! Mmmmm. I still miss Nyonya (is it nostalgia? How much does memory alter perception?) but I still think the laksa tasted better at Nyonya despite it being the same people! Must try Singapore Garden next.
Went for a walk with Deuce – and all these ducks were sitting on the wall hanging out. LIke they were all taking a smoking break. The ones closer to the camera flew off when I was trying to take the picture.
David home soon from Brussels – making zhajiang mian for dinner tonight. Yummy!
Deuce has some new food for dinner – dehydrated food, just add water & presto, Robbie’s Holistic Dog Food. It smells like normal food – and actually looks pretty good too. Deuce seems to really like it, but it’s hard to tell, he’s equally enthusiastic for chicken donuts (plasticky vile smelling dog treat) and cheese.
It’s the weekend – off to the Electric for Up in the Air tomorrow – wheeee!

Alice, you are my absolute hero !
Thanks to you, I am rediscovering on my own the Chinese cuisine. I am currently waiting for everybody to be here to put the Zha Jiang Mian on the table. I can’t believe I am making this, not because of its difficulty – zero-ing – but because of some family history thing : my parents used to run a Chinese restaurant and the kitchen was totally verboten to the children, as a working area. So we learnt but only by tasting and never were allowed to see the actual cooking process. So I am kind of intimidated by the Chinese cuisine.
But the walls are falling ! hourrah, hourrah ! And I owe you !
Thank you, thank you , thank you !
