On pottery painting and boats to China with tea and hats

This is my logo for the Knit Love Club – cute no?

All the parcels were posted yesterday. Very pleased.  Went out in the afternoon for some pottery painting with M arja and her little ones.  Lots of fun – Charlie had fun just mixing the paints around with his brush and finger, and  trying to surreptitiously sneak some of the paint into his mouth.

Today was busy – morning meeting for Knit Nation (paperwork and red tape, but good to get that ball rolling), then the afternoon with Sophia.  She sang a little (in English and then in her own made up language) about a boat to China with lots of tea, danced a bit (with some saucy bum slapping) and we read a bit.  B and I caught up over coffee and cookies.  Deuce was his usual weird self at B’s, chasing his tail and meowing and rolling around on the rug.   I showed B my wounded knuckle and she wrinkled her nose slightly repulsed. It looks nasty!  But thankfully doesn’t really hurt, though know it feels stiff and kind of bruised. My fascination/repulsion with my wound continues….

Finally tonight David and I got to see Avatar in 3-D.  Pretty cool effects, and wow it will make an amazing video game. Seriously though James Cameron is the king of cheese (I’m picturing him on the bow of Titantic shrieking ‘I’m the King of Cheese!’).  I also think it is really funny that the aliens who are so in touch with the earth have African accents and look a bit like the Masai.  I love it when aliens are represented by anything that is not mainstream for the film maker (eg the baddies in Star Wars being like chinese mandarins, in both accent and clothing).  It exposes that particular brand of well intentioned (or not) prejudice that Ali G was so deft at uncovering.

Tomorrow a pampering day with the girls followed by a trip to the gym with hubby.  Hubby’s insurance has some great thing where if you join a gym and earn points (by getting assessments, going to the gym regularly etc) then you get a cashback reward at the end of the year.  Better than a kick in the teeth I say!

Did I tell you that when we saw Avatar, people started cheering and whoop whooping when the animals attacked the army? Now that’s cheese!
