I admit it. I have a crazed obsession with handpainted artisan sock yarns. I have no problem saying: I am a Sock Addict. I love knitting them. I love wearing them - feet swaddled in little clouds is how I would describe it.

In my constant search for the next sock yarn 'hit', I found that I often couldn't find the artisan yarns I wanted to try in the UK - so, never to be one to sit by idly on the side lines, I thought I would jolly well do something about it! Well, one thing led to another and Socktopus was born.

I intend for Socktopus to be a mecca for artisan yarns and top end knitting products - a celebration of the value of human effort put into the yarns and tools used. I think it is a fitting complement to the act of knitting, itself something of an antithesis to our age of anonymous machine made goods.

It's been a real adventure pulling things together to enable Socktopus to burst forth into the world. I look forward to sharing this journey with you, and spoiling you with luxury, beauty and quality.
